How Unio Works

A 2-minute explanation of the core ideas that make Unio different from every other LMS.

Every question tagged to a concept. Every assessment updating a living mastery map. Every student matched to careers based on who they actually are. Three layers of measurement, connected by design.

Every question knows what it’s testing

In a traditional LMS, a math test is just 'Chapter 5 test.' In Unio, every question is tagged to specific concepts: the actual building blocks of understanding. One question might test 'quadratic factoring' and 'sign analysis' at the same time.

When a student gets it wrong, we know exactly which concept broke. Not 'weak in algebra,' but 'can factor but can't apply the discriminant to determine root nature.'

From marks to mastery maps

Traditional grading says 72%. Unio says they've mastered 8 of 12 concepts in quadratics, with 'completing the square' and 'discriminant analysis' still in progress. Every assessment updates a living mastery map.

Each new answer refines the estimate using statistical models that weigh question difficulty, response patterns, and prior performance. The more data points, the sharper the picture, but even one well-designed test gives actionable insight.

From cognitive profile to career direction

Our Model of Mind assessment measures 76 variables across cognitive strengths, interest patterns, personality traits, and learning preferences. This isn't a personality quiz. It's a validated psychometric instrument built on established career research frameworks.

The engine matches each student's profile against 185 career paths, producing ranked recommendations with confidence levels. Every recommendation is explainable: we show which traits matched which career requirements.
